Symptoms
After moving the Content Studio databases to a new SQL-server or a new instance of SQL-server the error "Must declare the variable @result" displays on the start page of the site. The Content Studio databases were moved by restoring backups of the original databases to the new SQL-server installation.
Cause
This error is generated by SQL server when the master database has a case-sensitive sort order. With such a sort order SQL-server treats object names with different casing as different objects. This affects all parts of Content Studio and this Content Studio does run if the installation has one of these sort-orders.
Resolution
Install Content Studio on a SQL-server instance with a case-insensitive sort order or rebuild the master database.
Status
This error is by design. Normally the installation program does not allow installation on a case-sensitive sort order server but in case that databases are restored on such an installation this protection does not exists.
